At last the show season is upon us and winter is a distant memory; great to be out and about again enjoying driving those muscle cars.
The season opener, as always, was Wheels Day at Rushmoor Arena , Aldershot, organized by the Surrey Street Rodders. Although the show field appeared a little soft at times, over a 1,000 cars attended and the sun shone.
The start of the Classic American car of the year heats saw Gavin Shaw and his gorgeous 1970 440 +6 Cuda with a worthy win.
Next up for me was a trip to Alton, Hampshire and a classic car meet on the first Sunday of the month at The Departure Lounge Café which was complete with an old passenger aircraft in the yard. Lovely warm weather and a very warm vibe made this gathering extremely memorable with a huge diversity of cars in attendance.
A few weeks later and I took the trusty Barracuda down to the Victory Wheelers show at Hayling Island and enjoyed a fab day out with the family in magnificent sunshine. A great turn-out of cars and some very cool muscle machines, the beach was heaving and a good time was had by all.
On the american car valuation front I have had the pleasure of being involved with a couple of high end cars, both Chrysler B bodies. A 1967 440ci Coronet R/T in excellent condition (an ex film car as well!) and a Los Angeles built 1969 383ci Road Runner which has a white vinyl roof on a green body – simply stunning.
Looking to the future I will hope to make the Father’s Day classic show at the Deers Hut, Liphook in June.
If you want a full car valuation or appraisal for your set of wheels then drop me a line on the TOVA-UK enquiry form.
Till then, keep driving them old cars!
