May drive time

At last the show season is upon us and winter is a distant memory; great to be out and about again enjoying driving those muscle cars.

1969 Charger at Wheels Day

The season opener, as always, was Wheels Day at Rushmoor Arena , Aldershot, organized by the Surrey Street Rodders. Although the show field appeared a little soft at times, over a 1,000 cars attended and the sun shone.
The start of the Classic American car of the year heats saw Gavin Shaw and his gorgeous 1970 440 +6 Cuda with a worthy win. Continue reading

Me & the legendary drag racer, Don Garlits

I’ve had an interesting past couple of months and been privy to some great cars.

Started out in Ocala, Florida to attend the Don Garlits Florida mopar show, with excellent sunny weather and two whole days of muscle cars – it felt like heaven. This show has grown enormously and is now a major Southern Pentastar past time. With great show cars, survivors, AMC offerings, new Mopar muscle Challengers and Chargers it’s a must-see event. The swap meet is full and then there is the museum of Drag Racing, not to be missed. TOVA up to Fall

Standard

Since my last blog, the MoparEuroNats has come and gone. This year we were really unlucky with the weather as Friday and Sunday were washouts. The Saturday, however, made up for all the rain and the show was packed with American muscle cars – thankfully I could perform my valuation duties as well. It is the first time we have suffered with such atrocious conditions; let’s hope next year’s 2016 show returns to a more summery climate.

American Car Valuations & Appraisals This Summer

Standard

car valuationWell here we are in the middle of the show season and I must say the shows I have attended so far have been fab.

The Goodwood Festival of Speed with “The King” and his built #43 Plymouth Superbird wowed the crowds and he signed (again) my Barracuda – top man!

Even my local show in Liphook, Hampshire brought in a Jaguar D type, Lamborghini Miura and 5 Jaguar XK 120’s. The show was packed with a really diverse collection of classic cars, and plenty of American-makes were present too.

To get up to date, the last weekend of July is always the Mopar Euronationals at Santa Pod Raceway, one of my favourite shows.  That’s Friday 24, Saturday 25 & Sunday 26 July 2015.

I will be present for all THREE days at the show and available for valuations and appraisals – just pull into the T-Shirt stand to sign up. Car Club members get a special rate of only £35.00.

See you there!
